Pizza Party Competition

Do you love hosting? Looking for a fun party idea? Well look no further! My husband and I are big fans of hosting and love coming up with fun party ideas for us and our guests! We love hosting and making sure everyone is having a fun time and feel included. One in particular that we love hosting and have hosted for a couple of years now is a Pizza Party!

But with a twist!

It’s more of a Pizza Party Competition! For all of those people who love pizza and games and are super competitive, this is the perfect party!

How it works!

The way that we have hosted this party is by having all of our guests come and separate into different teams to bake pizzas. Once the pizzas have all been baked, we all try each team’s pizza then vote on taste and presentation and the team with the highest score wins!

How to prep:

Send out your invites!

You can honestly just add everyone to a group chat and invite them but if you did want to spice it up a little, you can make a cute creative invite on Canva.com with some fun pizza puns and send that out to your guests!

Lay out what everyone would need to bring!

What my husband and I do is we supply the dough for everyone and ask others to bring the toppings they would like on their pizza. This is a fun way to let others be creative in their pizza as well as make sure they are eating what they want to eat rather than being stuck with our options that they may or may not enjoy. And there are usually extras for anyone else to share as well so if you do forget anything, no problem! Someone is bound to have something you are missing!

Plan out the competition and set up the rules!

Depending on how many people there are, we try and split everyone up as evenly as we can into different teams. From there we ask everyone to come up with a team name. Once a team name is secured, we start making our pizzas. After the pizzas are baked in the oven, we then each try every team’s pizza. We then score each team’s pizza on a sheet of paper anonymously and give our scoring sheets to one designated person who will be the judge (usually the host). You can do this with whatever numerical value you choose. 1 through 3 or 1 through 5, whatever you think is best. The judge will then add up all of the scores for each team and see who has the highest score and voila: your pizza party champion. It really is so simple yet so fun!

Some caveats for baking the pizza. If you do only have 1 oven, like my husband and I do, I recommend just cooking 2 pizzas at a time. It does help speed up things especially when everyone is hungry! You can also cook the dough before adding toppings to prepare it and once you add the toppings you just broil for 3-5 minutes and that speeds things up as well! Just some thoughts :)

Issue out prizes for winners!

Now you can choose to do this if you want to but it is really up to you! Last year that we hosted this, we got a cute little fun trophy from Target that we gave out to the winner but again it is totally optional! If you want to make sure everyone feels included, you can also just purchase some cute party favors to give out to everyone at the end!

Overall, this is a fun party to host! It brings out everyone’s competitive side and you get to have some great yummy food as well! Also, another benefit is that instead of worrying about making sure you have enough food or drinks for everyone coming, with this party, everyone is bringing food so there is enough to share. It will also take less stress off of you as a host to make sure there is enough for everyone or that everyone enjoys what is offered!

I do so hope you try out this idea and if you do let me know if it was a fun tasty success!
